Hi anyone who reads my Blog!??!!! Anybody out there???
Well.....again it has been a long time since my last blog update. It is hard to keep updating so many media and social sites.
I have now purchased www.tourdepeaks.co.uk as the web name for the MS Society Charity Challenge. So just need to build the site, which I have started doing....and I have also got a very kind lady called Maddy from Natalex.co.uk to host the site for free for me.
The training is going well. I managed to cycle to Fakenham and back just over a week ago, and I have also now started running again. Just had more physio yesterday courtesy of The Jefford Centre, run and owned by Evie Jefford in Norwich, who has been fantastic in the help, advice and physio given in the past few weeks.
Also starting to have a run in the lunchtime and then hopefully this will help with the fitness.....sure it can't do any harm!
I must get the bike booked in for a service, the pedals and show clips I am getting use to.....only fallen off twice now.....hehehe.
Promise to try and keep the blog updated but much easier to update Twitter than get on to update the blog.
Hope to have more pics to upload soon, and also get the website done asap too.

Tour de France or Tour de Peaks
Exciting news that the Tour de France is starting this weekend!!! who will be the winner.....Armstrong, Wiggins, Contodor??? will Cav win the sprints and be in the green??
Anyway back to the Tour of Training for the charity challenge, I managed to try the new pedals and shoes last weekend.... on Saturday for the first time. To great effect......I went 10 miles ish without incident and at my first major junction forgot to unclip thinking I could merge with traffic. Only to find out I couldn't.....then the sudden panic hit home that my feet were stuck to the pedals and tiimmmbbbbberrrr! comedy moment. A passer by kindly came to my aid after braking and parking on a grass verge, but I managed to unclip and pick myself and the bike off the floor with a smile on my face! Thanked the passer by then finished 17 miles.
Sunday was more successful with the pedals!! and I managed a lovely 30 mile ride in the baking sun......some beautiful Norfolk scenery taken in.
Tuesday 5 am start and managed a quick 10 mile before heading into the office early......so training going well this week!

June update, Good and Bad News
Bad news out of the way first.......it has now been made official and the consultants have confirmed that my sister in law, Sonya has MS!!!!! So a big upset and shock for the family. This makes our challenge all the more important and even more personal now!
Good news, looks like Matt, Sonya's son, is joining the challenge and is going to start training, plus Jamie our niece's boyfriend is joining us ......and possibly a few others to be confirmed nearer the time.
I have purchased some cycling shoes and pedals so cannot wait to try them out this weekend at some point and get some more training done. We are just back off holiday from last week and whilst away in Spain I managed to do 'spinning classes' everyday.......so feel quite fit at the moment!

New start and Physio
It has been a while since I have been on to do my blog! And it is 13 weeks since the injury!!!!!! I think the fact I did not want to write negative paragraphs is part of the reason.
I have started physio over the past 2 weeks, and currently having ultra sound done. Next visit is on Friday. The ankle is still swollen and sore, but at least I am back on the bike now and managed 3 short rides (10/12 miles) last week. It will be a long time before I am running again according to the physio! At least I am on the bike now.
Really need to buy some new cycling gear, but this will come in the next few weeks. A June holiday to look forward to in Spain............but I do need to shed a few pounds first. My weight is now near 13 stone and I ideally want to be eleven and a half to twelve maximum. So a bit of a goal there now. I must watch what I am eating and drinking and snacking on now to get back to fitness.
In the next few months I will be confirming a new date for the challenge and getting the promotional leaflets and posters sorted again. I feel so sorry that I cannot do the challenge this year but I would not do myself justice trying to get fit in such a short time.....in fact it will be near on impossible, especially with the pain in my ankle still and not being able to run.........fairplay it was a proper injury! Made a good job of it. Plus to attempt it this year now would not be fair on Tom, my brother, and brother in law too.
It is great to be back on the bike and training even if the first few times I am coughing my guts up due to poor fitness.
Right, now I am back in the writing mood I will try to keep this blog up to date with news.

Charity Challenge Delay until 2011
The picture above does not do the injury justice!! The foot and ankle has actually got bigger but I don't have a camera currently with me to upload a new picture.....I will do shortly! This was the result of playing football last Monday, whereby I ended up making another unscheduled visit to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Following an X-Ray it was not broken but I did have significant Tendon and Ligament damage!! After seeking further medical advice it was put in layman's terms as worse than a break!! And as the rehabilitation process is going to take some time it is with great dissappointment that I have to delay the Charity Challenge until 2011!!!!
I am currently still using crutches to get around and they are starting to become very frustrating .....and it has only been a week!
So please forgive me reference the delay, but I have now retired from playing football until after the Challenge is completed in 2011. So the new 2010 challenge is on!......that is getting the ankle right and attempting to get even fitter on the bike!!!!
Not a lot else to say as I am so fed up, but please keep reading the Blog for a road to recovery diary!
Thanks.

The Forum & Radio Norfolk
Hi everyone and anyone, well!!! in The Forum yesterday trying to raise the profile and more funds for the MS Society. So I was riding my bike on the turbo trainer and managed 5 hours 20 mins. Plus a very kind radio interview with David Whiteley from Radio Norfolk, who even came down and had a ride on the bike!! Visit the BBC iPlayer to listen again.
Not sure how much money was raised but the Norwich MS Society will let me know more this next week, and a big thank you to everyone who came and donated and took sponsor forms too.
Now back in the mood to do some exercise after yesterdays episode. Big task and very big challenge ahead for all involved but we will do it!
